If Thor can get three movies (With a fourth on the way), so can Ant-Man. And like the first two, it’s been confirmed that Peyton Reed, who directed the 2015 film Ant-Man and the 2018 follow-up Ant-Man and the Wasp, will return to helm the third installment. The film is expected to serve as an early addition in the yet-officiated Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which Black Panther 2 is confirmed to start off in early 2022 after the current Phase 4 that is set to begin next year with Black Widow in May 2020. Ant-Man 3 is still in early stages with shooting set to be begin either very late in 2020 or very early in 2021. This, a Summer 2022 release date is likely.
Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are expected to return as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/Wasp, respectively. This will mark Rudd’s fifth time and Lilly’s fourth time in their respective roles (Both starred in the two solo Ant-Man films and Avengers: Endgame while only Rudd appeared in Captain America: Civil War).
The Ant-Man films are noted for being the light-hearted installments of the MCU. Seems there is still a desire for that. Stay tuned!
