Scott Cooper is one director that hasn’t gotten enough credit. Not only is his most recent film Hostiles beloved by audiences, but his first hit, Out of the Furnace, was put on several top lists for the year it came out. Now, Cooper will take his brutal style and take a literal stab at the horror genre with his new film Antlers, influenced by several popular horror filmmakers from John Carpenter to Andrei Tarkovsky and encouraged heavily by the film’s own producer, the one and only Guillermo del Toro. The synopsis is as follows:
A small-town Oregon teacher and her brother, the local sheriff, become entwined with a young student harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.
