This day and age, nothing is off limits as source material for a show or movie. One such example is the upcoming limited Bravo series Dirty John that is actually based off a 2017 true crime podcast of the same name, a podcast that pulled in over 25 million downloads. Still, given the strong cast and crew involved in the upcoming series, set for a November 25th premiere date on Bravo, it’s possible this could be an effective story to see.
The story focuses on Debra (Played by Connie Britton), a woman who begins a relationship with John (Played by Eric Bana) after meeting online. Their courtship quickly leads to marriage, but Debra slowly starts to realize that John might be hiding quite a bit of darkness from his past.
The show is penned and created by Alexandra Cunningham who was one of the creators of the acclaimed Hulu show Chance which was cancelled at the beginning of this year after two seasons due to low viewership. Cunningham will also serve as an executive producer for Dirty John alongside Britton, Bana, Richard Suckle, Charles Roven, Mark Herzog, Christopher G. Cowen, and Chris Argentieri.
