Glass Debuts Trailer #1 & Comic-Con Poster

After a week of trailer teases, today we were graced with the official trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, which graces the internet after the film had it’s panel at Comic-Con only an hour ago. The final film in his Unbreakable trilogy that deconstructs the superhero genre and reconstructs into a form familiar in our world. Where multiple personalities create chemical changes in a single form, allowing stamina and strength not seen in normal people. Where a man with instinct can be revealed to have unbreakable skin and strength. Where a man with breakable bones turns out to have a skyrocketing IQ.

Through these characters, M. Night assembles a classic good vs. evil tale and in the first trailer reminds audiences of a unique vision he once carried as a director. A vision he finally gets to complete as the myth of his 2000 film Unbreakable grew in popularity over the years (After unperforming and being misunderstood by critics when it came out). As his 2017 film Split surprised everyone as being the second installment in his story and blowing audiences away. It was only with the latter film’s post-credit scene we saw that the pieces were being assembled for a showdown we won’t soon forget. Where what we believe to be impossible in this world comes out of the shadows to show it’s very real form. Where villains demand retribution. Where heroes seek justice. The most grounded of the superhero genre in a time where it has flooded the cinemas, it would seem M. Night was always ahead of his time and we just were all catching up.

The symbolism so simple. The heroes incorruptible…Unbreakable. The villains fractured…Split. Society, so delicate when faced with change…like Glass. Check it out the trailer below and prepare for the decades-long promise M. Night made to finally come to fruition:

Glass stars Bruce Willis, James McAvoy, Samuel L. Jackson, Spencer Treat Clark, Charlayne Woodard, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Sarah Paulson. It is set to hit theaters January 18, 2019. In addition, we have a special Comic-Con poster for the film which you can check out below:
