Last week we got a new, full trailer for Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (See it here), but one thing kept bugging people…where was Jack Black as R.L. Stine? Serving as a main star in the first film back in 2015, Black’s fictionalized version of the real author of the Goosebumps book series was one of the key selling points. Up until now, the sequel looked to not feature Black at all with even the evil dummy Slappy (Which Black also voiced in the first film), being voiced by Avery Lee Jones, the puppeteer behind Slappy in the first film. But now the new TV spot, titled “Old Friend”, reveals that Black will indeed appear in the sequel as Stine, although it’s expected to be in a much smaller capacity. Check the new TV spot out below:
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Caleel Harris, Chris Parnell, and Ken Jeong. It is directed by Ari Sandel and is set to hit theaters October 12th.
