It’s not exactly Sistine Chapel, but then again the simplicity of the marketing is part of what made the first It such a hit as well as leaning on the simple premise. An otherworldly creature, disguised as a creepy clown, who brings the worst fears of children to life to lure them in and kill them. So while it’s quite literally just the title on it, the first poster for next year’s It: Chapter Two sends the same idea about Pennywise the Clown (Played by Bill Skarsgård). He’s eerie…yet undefined. No one knows exactly what he looks like in the story and it’s that sense of unknown, like all great horror icons, that makes him such a compelling villain to the story. So what the poster is saying is that on September 6, 2019…the unknown comes back for you:
It: Chapter Two co-stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Jay Ryan, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone, and Andy Bean as the adult versions of The Losers Club. Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Wyatt Oleff will return from the first film as the younger Losers, respectively. It is once again directed by Andy Muschietti.
