Alita: Battle Angel is getting incredible early buzz, calling the film a feast for the senses and the heart, but the film is also not set to make a large amount it’s opening weekend when it hits theaters February 14th. It’s only set to make between $12 million and $17 million. For a film estimated to have cost $200 million to make, that’s not a good start and appears the film will require overseas audiences to make up for it unless the early buzz helps boost it’s numbers.
Perhaps that is the reason co-writer/producer James Cameron put himself front and center in a new “Moments Worth Paying For” trailer where he promotes the benefits of watching such a gorgeous visual film like Alita on the big screen. Check it out below:
Alita: Battle Angel stars Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keean Johnson. It is directed by Robert Rodriguez.
