This year has been basically Marvel’s most cram-packed year. Besides their record-breaking movies like Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, they also have stepped up on the TV side with almost all of their Netflix shows returning. Jessica Jones premiered it’s second season in March, Luke Cage followed suit in June, and it was confirmed a couple weeks ago that season 2 of Iron Fist will premiere September 7th (See the announcement here). Now, you’d think that be enough for one year, but turns out that Netflix and Marvel plan to finish the year with the upcoming third season of the first show that started the trend.
In their recent Q2 earnings call, Netflix’s CFO David Wells seemingly confirmed Daredevil is in fact set to premiere it’s third season by the end of 2018 and not early 2019 as originally thought. See Wells’ statement that mentions this here:
I have got the great pleasure of trying to make people very happy and in the short term we’ve got new seasons coming up the second half of this year of Orange Is The New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the followup series for Making a Murderer.
It has not been confirmed yet the specific premiere date but given the exact three month separation between all the new seasons of Marvel shows (March, June, September), it’s a strong bet the season will premiere in either November or December. Stay tuned!
