Well it finally happened. After the conclusion of the “Harry Potter” film series, we have seen lead actor Daniel Radcliffe from from Harry Potter to Allen Ginsberg in the 2013 American biographical drama film “Kill Your Darlings”. Emma Watson has gone from Hermoine Granger to Belle in a live-action adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast”. Many seem to forget about the third member of the trio, actor Rupert Grint who played Ron Weasley. Between Radcliffe’s biopics and Emma Watson’s fictional romance, Grint will be right in the middle with his new film “Moonwalker”, a 2015 American comedy film that premiered early this year in March at South by Southwest but was picked up by Alchemy for a January 15th release in 2016.
The synopsis plays like a fictional biopic (Well fictional to non-conspiracy theorists), centered around a CIA agent named Kidman (Played by Ron Perlman) and a rock manager named Jonny (Played by Rupert Grint) who team up to help Stanley Kubrick fake the moon landings in case the real Apollo 11 mission fails.
Being a fan of Ron Perlman, who ironic enough played a version of the Beast in a TV show version of “Beauty and the Beast” from 1987-1990, I’m excited to see where this strange little story might go. Grint, on the other hand, is a sort of unsung hero of the “Harry Potter” trio. Maybe “Moonwalkers” is the start to fame he’s been looking for. See for yourself though. Check out the trailer below:
