Fathers and sons bond over a lot of things. Sports, movies, food, fishing…writing horror novellas. Well, at least that’s what Stephen King and his son Joe Hill seem to like to do. After writing their first novella together back in 2009, titled Throttle, they then went on to collaborate on the 2012 novella In the Tall Grass. And, since this is the era of adapting everything King has ever written, that includes this novella.
The good news? The film adaptation, focusing on a brother and sister who venture into a seemingly inescapable Kansas field after hearing a young boy crying out for help, is being written and directed by the perfect choice. None other than Cube writer/director Vincenzo Natali. And the potential of such a creative force on this film shows in the official trailer for the Netflix film that has been released today. Check it out below:
In the Tall Grass stars Patrick Wilson. It is set to have it’s world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 20, 2019 before being released on Netflix on October 4, 2019.
