Season 3 of Stranger Things is currently filming through the end of the year with it set to premiere on Netflix sometime early next year in 2019. This will be the first time the show hasn’t had a season released consecutively after the first two seasons aired annually. To keep the show fresh in people’s minds, and adhering to the nostalgia of the 1980’s that the show has become known for, an in-universe commercial designed to resemble one made in that decade has been released today.
The commercial is advertising Starcourt Mall, a new shopping complex about to open in Hawkins, Indiana, the town where the show primarily is set in. It’s a strong bet that this location will serve as important to the new season. The commercial actually features Stranger Things supporting character Steve Harrington (Played by Joe Keery) who seems to be working at a place in the mall called Scoops Ahoy, an ice cream shop. Alongside Steve is the character Robin, a character set to make her debut in the third season and played by actress Maya Hawke. Check the faux advertisement out below:
