Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy TV Series Adaptation Releases First Poster

Netflix has had a lot of original series although, obviously, their biggest shows have been the Marvel superhero series that tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). So makes sense Netflix would try and greenlight more shows like that, hence their upcoming adaptation of the Dark Horse Comics comic book series The Umbrella Academy, authored by Gerard Way.

The original comic book deals with a dysfunctional family of superheroes who work together to solve their father’s mysterious death (An extraterrestrial disguised as a famous entrepreneur) while coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities. The family consists of seven children adopted by their father. The seven are the surviving children of 43 superpowered infants who, in an alternate history,  inexplicably were born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy.

The show is expected to premiere on Netflix some time in 2019 and today they have released their first poster for the show. Check it out below:
