Rambo: Last Blood Officially R-Rated, New Photos Released

Back when The Expendables 3 came out, a lot of things went wrong. Besides a pirated copy hitting the internet before the film came to theaters, the film also had a PG-13 rating which many felt, including star Sylvester Stallone, helped fizzle the film’s box office performance. Ever since Rambo: Last Blood was announced, Stallone was determined to make sure the film pushed boundaries and delivered on the gruesome story set-up of John Rambo taking on the Mexican drug cartel.

Sure enough, despite there being no word on the film’s quality yet (The film is set to hit theaters September 20th), the film is now confirmed to at least live up to the brutal aspect. Today, it’s been confirmed that Rambo: Last Blood has been granted an R-rating with the MPAA for “strong graphic violence, grisly images, drug use and language.” And while the new photos released for the film simply tease the kind of blood that will be shed by Rambo, it shows that he’s going to go out fighting for family with every bit of ingenuity of war he is capable of.
