The upcoming remake of Resident Evil 2 is shaping up to be a beautiful, refined take on the classic game that first blew everyone way back in 1998. Beyond redesigning the gameplay to fit the over-the-shoulder 3rd person design that the later installments of the franchise have become known for, the game is getting a darker and more grounded tone this time around.
That being said, the creators couldn’t help but do something that drew from promotion for the original version. Prior to the launch of the original Resident Evil 2, an intriguing 10-minute demo was released. In this demo, gamers had a strict 10-minute time limit to get through the demo before it was game over. It was constantly being replayed over and over in hopes of making it a little further before time ran out.
Now, while the full remade game is barely two weeks out from release, and in keeping with the memory of that original marketing gimmick, the remake of Resident Evil 2 will release a “1-Shot” demo that will allow gamers a one time, 30-minute limit to get through the demo. While the full game is set for release on January 25th, the demo will be available from January 11th through January 31st for any last minute gamers on the fence about buying the game. Today, a short trailer was released to promote this promotion. Check it out below:
Resident Evil 2 is set to be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
