When Hayley Atwell arrived into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger”, she was an instant fan favorite. Creating an intelligent, clever, and less-than-sex-focused action heroine seemed like a great way to help round out the male-centric MCU for those who had reservations about it (Black Widow was enough for some, too sexy). So, in 2014, the first season of “Agent Carter” arrived, continuing the adventures of Agent Peggy Carter after losing Steve Rogers (Played by Chris Evans) in “Captain America: The First Avenger”. For season two, we see her moving from the setting of New York City to Los Angeles.
The synopsis for Season 2 is as follows:
“Marvel’s Agent Carter” returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home – and perhaps even a new love – she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.
Along with Atwell as Carter, “Marvel’s Agent Carter” co-stars actor James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, actor Enver Gjokaj as Chief Daniel Sousa, actress Wynn Everett as Whitney Frost, actor Reggie Austin as Jason Wilkes and actor Chad Michael Murray as Chief Jack Thompson.
The second season will premiere January 5, 2016 and run for 10 episodes with the finale airing March 1, 2016.
