While he’s been teasing it since 2017, Sylvester Stallone spoke over the 4th of July holiday about moving forward with developing The Expendables 4 although news has just spread today with him posting the following comment on social media:
All of those July 4th Fireworks got my mind going! I am starting to cook up the next adventure
This comes after a year of announcing Creed II as the final time he’ll play Rocky Balboa and the upcoming Rambo: Last Blood expected to be his last time playing John Rambo. It’s uncertain who might return to the fourth installment at this point, although Terry Crews, who played one of the main members of the team Hale Caesar, has stated in the past he will not. This is due to Crews’ testimony against WME agent Adam Venit for sexually assaulting him and Expendables producer Avi Lerner demanding Crews drop his charges against Venit. Arnold Schwarzenegger has expressed interest recently and Dolph Lundgren, who reunited with Stallone in Creed II, seems as ready to come back as well along with Jason Statham who has said in the past he will do as many Expendables films as Stallone is willing to make. Stay tuned!
