Last time Steven Spielberg was part of a horror film, we got Poltergeist. While there is no indication he wrote or, pardon the pun, ghost-directed the upcoming The Turning, a modern take on the 1898 horror novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James, he is serving as executive producer. Meaning he most likely gave some input as he always does in these circumstances. The synopsis is as follows:
At a mysterious estate in the Maine countryside, newly appointed nanny Kate (Played by Mackenzie Davis) is charged with the care of two disturbed orphans, Flora (Played by Brooklynn Prince) and Miles (Played by Finn Wolfhard). She quickly discovers that both the children and the house are harboring dark secrets and things may not be as they appear.
Today, the official teaser trailer for the film has been released. Check it out below:
The Turning co-stars Joely Richardson. It is directed by Floria Sigismondi and is set to hit theaters January 24, 2020.
